Terms and Conditions

In return for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) giving you access to the MyCFP portal, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions of use for this and all future uses of the MyCFP portal:

  1. You are using this service as available, and at your own risk. You are responsible for protecting your personal information if you are using a public computer to access the MyCFP portal and should terminate the connection to the MyCFP portal when leaving the computer.

  2. You agree that any information you provide is true, accurate, and complete.

  3. You understand and accept that you are at all times responsible for the safeguarding of your login information (i.e. user ID or name, password(s), etc.). This responsibility applies even if you change your login information. This information must be kept confidential at all times and must not be shared with or disclosed to others.

  4. If your login information (i.e. user ID or name, password(s), etc.) is compromised, or if you suspect that someone else has learned or obtained your login information, you are responsible for taking all necessary measures to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions you agreed to when you created your login information (either with the RCMP, any Government of Canada institution, or any Sign-in Partner). You must also advise the RCMP immediately.

  5. You agree not to use your own or another individual's login information for any illegal or improper purposes.

  6. You must use the services provided via the MyCFP portal solely for the purposes for which they are offered and for no other purpose including for no improper or illegal purpose or activity.

  7. You agree that you will not use any script, robot, spider, Web crawler, screen scraper, automated query program or other automated device or any manual process to monitor or copy the content contained in any of the CFP’s online services. You agree that you will not use any device, software or routine to interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the RCMP’s online services, and that you will not disturb the normal operation of such services. You agree that you will not take any action that imposes an excessive, unreasonable or disproportionately large load on the RCMP’s infrastructure. You agree not to use the services in a manner that harasses, or may harass, other parties, or that will or will have the potential to disrupt, undermine, corrupt, diminish or otherwise threaten or jeopardize RCMP’s online services or their integrity.

  8. The RCMP will monitor access to the MyCFP portal to ensure the service is being used responsibly and in accordance with these terms and conditions.

  9. Telemetry involves the use of IT tools to automatically measure and remotely monitor applications, and collect usage data without needing direct feedback from users. You understand and accept that the RCMP uses the data collected through telemetry to improve the performance, reliability, and quality of the MyCFP portal. Collection of this data allows the RCMP to monitor and investigate exceptions, errors, and events, as well as determine when, where, and how users (anonymized) interact with the MyCFP Portal. User information is anonymized but may include the collection of user location, network, IP, browser type, operating system, and language.

  10. You understand and accept that the RCMP can suspend or revoke your access to the MyCFP portal without notice under the following circumstances:
    • we suspect unauthorized use of your personal or login information;
    • you fail to comply with any of the Terms and Conditions of Use and/or agreements in place with the RCMP;
    • as a security measure; and
    • for operational reasons i.e. including, but not limited to, the use of scripts, web crawlers or screen scrapers.

  11. The RCMP has taken all reasonable steps to ensure the security of its online services. We have used sophisticated encryption technology and incorporated other procedures to protect your personal information at all times. However, the Internet is a public network and there is the remote possibility of data security violations. In the event of such occurrences, the RCMP is not responsible for any damages you may experience as a result.

  12. Transactions that occur between users of the RCMP’s MyCFP portal and third-party service providers (e.g. Sign-in Partner, GCKey, Moneris, GCNotify) are outside of the control of the RCMP. Such transactions are governed by terms and conditions and agreements in place between the user and the Sign-in Partner and the user and any Sign-in Partner. This Agreement does not amend or modify any such terms and conditions.

  13. The RCMP is not liable for any inability to use the RCMP’s MyCFP portal because of issues with the availability of third-party service providers (e.g. Sign-in Partner, GCKey, Moneris, GCNotify).

  14. The RCMP is not liable to users of the RCMP’s MyCFP portal for any damage caused or problems suffered as a result of the transactions carried out using the third-party service providers (e.g. Sign-in Partner, GCKey, Moneris, GCNotify).

  15. Without restricting the generality of the foregoing, the RCMP disclaims all liability for any claim in relation to:
    • the availability or unavailability, for any reason, of the Internet, login services, transfer links, telecommunications or other infrastructure systems;
    • any illegal or fraudulent use of your login information;
    • any transfer of information to the RCMP;
    • the non-acceptance of information provided through the MyCFP portal;
    • any restriction, delay, malfunction, or unavailability of the MyCFP portal; or
    • the use of your login information in a foreign country where such use is prohibited by the laws of that country.

  16. These terms and conditions of use may be amended from time to time. When this occurs, an advisory will be posted in the Service Notices within the MyCFP Portal. You are also encouraged to review these Terms and Conditions regularly when accessing the MyCFP Portal.
